True Worshippers

Scripture Reading. John 4:23

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. One of the most controversial issues facing many churches is the matter of worship. Many scriptures are manipulated to justify what is practiced as the worshipping of God. Our verse calls us to "Worship God in Spirit and in Truth: for such the Father seeketh. Vs. 21 tells us that a location is not needed. Worshipping God is an individual action...in spirit. A particular day is not needed. Special choruses or hymns are not required. Special movements or hand gestures are not mandatory. Worship comes from within! Not even a word is needed. Now it does not mean all the above cannot be used in worshipping of God. But they are not the proof that God is being worshipped Worshipping God is connected to serving God, Matt.4:10, and must also include the truth...truth in the inward parts, Ps 51:6. We must Worship God with all we think or do. So worship is not just going into a building and following a pattern. It is obeying Him and praising Him. They that worship God MUST worship Him in spirit and in truth. Otherwise, all actions, words, songs etc is vain worship. MY PRAYER. Lord please help us to experience the true meaning of worshipping you in spirit and in truth.
