Love One Another

THOUGHT FOR TODAY Scripture Reading. 1 John 4:7-21 It is said that The apostle John in his old age when he saw believers together would say to them "beloved love one another." echoing the words of The Lord Jesus Who told them to love one another and then added "by this shall men know ye are my disciples." When we see what Paul tells us love is in 1 Cor. 13 then we must seriously search our hearts to see if we qualify as a disciple of the Lord Jesus. The amount of hostility in words and actions among believers especially among Church leaders is so opposite to what the Scriptures calls us to. Exhortations like: ...increase and abound in ‭love one toward another. I Thess 3:12‬ ‭Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 1 Per 1:22‬ ‭If ‬we ‭love‭ ‭one‭ another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.‭ 1 John 4:12‬‬‬‬‬ ‭‭‭‭‭The ultimate of them all the Lord said ‬‬‬‬‬ This is my commandment, That ye ‭love‭ ‭one‭ another, as I have loved you.‭ Joh15:12‬‬‬‬‬ ‭‭‭‭‭Love is not mere words it is action that comes with a pure sincere heart. ‬‬‬‬‬ ‭‭‭‭‭Rom 12 says let love be without dissimulation /hypocrisy. It determines the manner and method with which we deal with one another. It determines if you are doing a right thing in a righteous way.‬‬‬‬‬ ‭‭‭‭‭Oh today let the words of our Lord be a motivator or a convicting element "by this men will know he are my disciples."‬‬‬‬‬ ‭‭‭‭‭MY PRAYER. O Lord forgive us for the times when our actions toward the brethren did not reflect us being your disciples. Be merciful and cause us to see our unchristlike attitudes and actions.
