Not On Your Understanding

Genesis 22 Proverbs 3:5, 6 tells us "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." The story of God telling Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac and Abraham's prompt response is one of the examples of men who at some time were able to fulfill this exhortation. This is similar to Romans 8:28 that says "for we know that all things work together for good to them that love God..." The thought for today is about the Sovereignty of God. That God is in control. He knows the big or whole picture. His commands might sometimes seem strange to us but we are told not to lean on our own understanding. The Hymn says “God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform.” Another line exhorts “Trust not the Lord by feeble sense nor scan his works in vain the Lord is His own interpreter and He will make it plain.” Another line says “the bud might have a bitter taste but sweet will be the flower. Trust Him today He is the Sovereign God. As it is often said when you cannot trace Him Just Trust Him. It is easier said than done but that must be the goal of our faith. MY PRAYER. LORD we know that Thou art the Sovereign God oh Give us a faith that we will Trust you with all our hearts and acknowledge you in all our ways.
