What Will Be Revealed

Scripture Reading. 1 Cor. 3:1-17 One of the most sobering truths in Scripture relating to the Christian is that of the Judgment Seat of Christ. This is better known as the Bema seat as the word for Judgment comes from the word Bema, which means the place of rewarding. There is no doubt in Scripture that the Person who believes in the Lord Jesus receives eternal life and they shall never perish and so this judgment has nothing to do with their salvation but deals with our works as to see whether they were good or bad. As it passes through the fire of God's judgment they will turn out to be gold, silver or precious stones or as wood, hay or stubble. It indicates that they whose works are equal to wood, hay or stubble will suffer loss. Yet they will still be saved. Those whose works are likened unto gold, silver or precious stones will be similar to that which is said to the believers in Matthew 25, "Well done thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." What type of motives and attitudes we serve the Lord with will determine what type of works ours will be. The answer is not to be carnal and walk in the flesh and defile your body like the believers mentioned in chapter 3 but like those who walk in the Spirit. Please give your life to the Lord and serve Him in the Spirit and obey the Lord else you suffer loss/ruin at the judgment seat. Live a righteous life in body, thoughts and actions.

MY PRAYER. Lord help us to be sensitive to our thoughts and motives as we serve so that our works would please you.

In Jesus Name, amen. Seeking to please God
